Advanced Tactical Medicine Presents at IACP’s 2025 Officer Safety and Wellness Conference
The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the world’s largest professional association for police leaders, will be holding their annual Officer Safety and Wellness Conference on March 11-13, 2025 in Anaheim, California.
Geared to law enforcement professionals seeking to learn from experts in the field, the conference showcases the best practices in the development of comprehensive officer safety and wellness strategies.
One of this year’s presenters is Advanced Tactical Medicine’s Traci Tauferner. Joining colleagues Patricia Bach from Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy and Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute’s Jeffery Spivey, Tauferner and team will deliver “Moving Forward: The State of Mental Health, Wellness and Resilience Programs.”
This collaborative workshop will present baseline data from a 2024 survey conducted to understand the status, scope, and needs of mental health, wellness, and resilience programs in police agencies across the country and around the world. With data and background information gathered from a broad spectrum of police professionals, the team will identify the multi-faceted resources available and provide suggestions to assist in strategic planning and project development efforts.
This year marks Tauferner's return to the IACP stage. In 2022, she and former Wausau Chief of Police Benjamin Bliven presented “A Small Agency’s Guide to Techniques for Reducing and Managing Officer Injuries” at the IACP event in Dallas.
That experience from three years ago presented a two-fold opportunity for the Director of Industrial & Tactical Medicine at Advanced, one she looks to replicate in 2025.
“First of all, events such as these are vital to improving officer and community safety, so it’s an honor to be presenting what we have learned to tactical leaders at IACP,” said Tauferner. “More importantly, it’s a chance to collaborate with national and international colleagues so we can continue to equip departments for ongoing success."
